Biography
Biography
Born in Prague, the Swiss soprano completed her bachelor’s degree at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2019 and subsequently obtained her master’s degree with the highest grade at the Swiss Opera Studio in Biel. She attended Professor Barbara Locher’s singing class for five years and continues her lessons with her to this day. Since September 2022, she has been supplementing her training with a Master’s degree solo performance, which she is again completing at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in the class of Hans-Jürg Rickenbacher.
She also received vocal coaching in master classes with Svetlana Afonina, Malcolm Walker, Jennifer Larmore, Thomas Hampson and Joyce DiDonato.
In 2022 she was invited to the final rounds of the international «Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition» and reached the semi-finals of the «Vincerò Singing Competition» in Naples.
She has sung in various roles at the Biel and Solothurn theatres, at the Murten Classics Festival and as a soloist in various concerts in Switzerland and abroad.
In her artistic career she has worked with conductors such as Viktor Bockmann, Mladen Tarbuk, Kaspar Zehnder, Franco Trinca, Christoph-Mathias Müller, Francis Benichou, Christoph Campestrini, Dieter Baran and Philipp Hutter.
She experienced scenic collaborations with, among others, Stefano Poda, Philippe de Bros, Mathias Behrends, Georg Rootering, Dieter Kaegi and Regina Heer.
In addition to opera, Tereza Kotlánová deals with the song interpretation of classical and romantic works and also devotes herself to contemporary literature, both in the context of concert compositions and in the field of music theater.
